Fishing

This fisherman's paradise provides rock and surf fishing of about 30km along the coastline between De Mond Nature Reserve to Suiderstrand.

One of the prime fishing spots are on the rocks right in front of the house, where people have caught shad, cob and the odd muscle cracker.

Struisbaai's infamous harbour is a haven for the entire family, fishermen, artists and bathers alike.  The pier offers safe and comfortable fishing for young and old, while the bay area in the harbour offers a wave-free swimming zone. You can even say hello to the local and legendary sting rays that live in the harbour waters.

The deep sea fishing is famous for its array of species i.e. yellowtail, cob, red snapper, red roman, bonitas, eastern little tunas, and much more as evident by the annual "25-Species Fishing Competition" and "Yellow Tail Festival"! To enjoy this side of Struisbaai, a number of charters are available - enquire at the harbour.
